Trekking in Georgia Caucasus Mountain
Do you like an active yet exotic vacation?
Georgia as a country has everything a nature lover could desire.
It has mountains and sea, glaciers and rivers, lakes and waterfalls, blooming meadows, healthy forests, and cozy shelters.
Due to its remoteness and vastness, it is enjoyed by few tourists.
Despite the war in Ukraine, Georgia is extremely safe.
A truly wild touch
The uniqueness and minimal impact of civilisation on this nature provide a truly wilderness feel that is incomparable to the Alps. However, the alpine environment can be admired throughout the area.
Our trek takes place in the most beautiful part of Georgia, in the Svaneti National Park – Greater Caucasus.
The park is known for the two-horned mountain Ushba (4710 m above sea level), which we can admire from various angles during our trip.
There are easy, moderately difficult, and difficult hiking options here.
Hikeslovakia focuses on the moderately difficult ones.
Where will we sleep?
The itinerary consists of one-day hikes into the wilderness and sleeping in cozy villages or in remote locations with locals. This way, we want to offer you a truly authentic contact with the locals, who are very welcoming, warm-hearted, cheerful, and friendly.
What will we eat?
Every evening will be a culinary experience. Each family produces its own ingredients here, with homemade vegetables and fruit, meat and dairy products coming from their own animals grazing freely in the meadows, and bread freshly baked every morning. Not to mention wine, Georgia wine, and other tasty treats.
Local architecture
On this trip, in addition to breathtaking nature, delicious food, and friendly people, you will also experience the interesting architecture of local monasteries and Svaneti towers, as well as the Caucasus Mountaineering Museum.
I have visited this country 10 times myself and I keep coming back, as if it were my second home.
In fact, I find a kind of special magic here, as if time has stood still and people are kinder and more humane.
But ultimately, you can make up your own mind.
